New-onset atrial fibrillation (NOAF) is a common post-operative complication of coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG), and in earlier studies (mostly in patients with multi-vessel disease), NOAF was associated with prolonged hospitalization, increased rates of adverse events, and greater health care costs.
