Chronic thromboembolic pulmonary hypertension, caused by thrombus-induced pulmonary vascular resistance, is treated with Balloon Pulmonary Angioplasty (BPA) in patients unable to undergo or with residual pulmonary hypertension after Pulmonary Endarterectomy (PEA).
